Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: 22,000 Children Die Each Day Due to Extreme Poverty, How One Company is Making A Difference
12/28/2015 12:00 pm PST
To start 2016, this episode of Business Game Changers features an innovative leader in the world of philanthropy, Joey Perry, the co-founder of Latitude. Joey, along with other founders, Krista Carroll and Jeremy Carroll, donate 50% of the company’s profits directly to the most impactful charities in the world that elevate people from extreme poverty. They have made this the central mission of their company.
According to the United Nations, ½ of the worlds population (3 Billion people) live in poverty on less than $2.50 a day and 1.3 Billion people live in extreme poverty on less than $1.25 a day. Latitude’s focus is on the people who live in extreme poverty. As you can see, there is plenty of work to do in this area.
With this daunting task in mind, Latitude is making inroads and is leading the way on how to make a difference. Their mission for helping people around the world has produced amazing results with 2 million dollars already given to charity in the short six years since the company was founded. This great accomplishment has been fueled by the incredible passion that their mission brings out in the quality of work to their clients, the meaningful culture it fosters, and the satisfaction that making a difference in peoples lives can do to your heart and mind.
This episode I talk with Joey Perry about her company’s accomplishments and how it has impacted her personally. We also discuss how her clients view Latitude’s branding and marketing services after learning what their central mission is. It’s a fascinating discussion into a different way of thinking and running a business.
After discussing Latitudes amazing work, I also discuss how a new wave of entrepreneurs are changing social entrepreneurship and changing the charity game. Lastly, I finish the episode with some information on the best and worst charities to donate to in 2016.
