Tracey Cleantis


Tracey Cleantis is a marriage and family therapist and life coach with a private practice in Valencia and Pasadena, California. She calls herself "The Dr. Kevorkian of Dreams" and is committed to helping people let go of what isn't working, grieve the loss and get to the other side where happiness waits for them. Through her online writing, Tracey, has built a national reputation as an accessible and trustworthy expert with a special expertise in the death of a dream and self-care. Tracey holds a Master’s Degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Counseling Psychology and has studied at the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles. Tracey speaks and leads workshops and seminars about the loss of dreams and is an expert in the development of self-care.

Tracey has been a contributor for both Huffington Post and Psychology Today. Tracey has published essays, fiction, and poetry in various publications, she has been featured in The Daily Mail, The Irish Independent News, Publishers Weekly, Psychologies Magazine, The New York Daily News, Redbook, Yahoo News, Salon.com, Macleans, Aeon, NPR, Forest and Bluff, Sheridan Road and on Fox News Boston. Her best-selling book, The Next Happy: Letting Go of the Life You Planned and Find a New Way Forward ( 2015, Hazelden) received a coveted Publisher’s Weekly Starred Review and was nominated for the best psychology book of the year by The Books for a Better Life Award. Her upcoming book, Self-Care is Not a Stupid Candle: How to Take Care of Yourself in Every Area of Your Life will be released in Spring 2017 by Hazelden.

She lives in Pasadena, California with her fiancée Keith and her dog, Lily.
